What’s Going On…
The Problem: Global Warming. Bad bad bad. And getting worse. Read more.
The Group: 350.org. Founded by Ripton, VT resident and legendary climate activist Bill McKibben, they’re building a worldwide movement to combat the climate crisis.
The Date: October 24 - an international day of grassroots climate events.
Vermont 350 Dance Party: Bringing the whole state together in solidarity, celebration, and commitment to addressing the challenges of climate change.
Why?: “If I can’t dance I don’t want to be in your revolution.” (Emma Goldman didn’t actually say this, but she should get the credit anyway.)
How We’ll Do it: Well, we’ve got these really gigantic speakers set up on Mt. Mansfield…
No, seriously, we’re having a concert at Higher Ground with two great dance bands, Spiritual Rez and Barefoot Truth.

Then, the concert will get simulcast on uStream, on Free Vermont Radio, and on cable so that people around the state (and world) can pick up our live stream and have their own dance party!
If you have any questions or a deep, burning desire to sponsor the project, please feel free to contact us.
And remember, you can still participate even if you don’t live in Vermont. Because really, Vermont is just a state of mind…

“What is happening, and what is likely to happen, convinces me that the world must be really ambitious and very determined at moving toward a 350 target… What we do in the next two to three years will determine our future. This is a defining moment.”
- Rajendra Pachauri, head of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
