The Road From Here…

This dance party is just one small event in an ongoing worldwide effort to address the climate crisis.

The most important thing you can do next is stay involved.

Here’s how:

Short Term – The EcoChallenge

Take a look at our Tip Sheets, which give lots of ideas for changes you can make in your daily life and at work.  Then join the Vermont Earth Institute’s Eco-Challenge, pledge to make a change in your lifestyle for up to four weeks, and see what kind of donations you can get!

Long Term – The Big Commitment

Because the causes and consequences of the climate crisis permeate every area of our lives, there are also an infinite number of arenas where change and transformation can happen.

There isn’t anyone in the world whose creativity and ingenuity and courage won’t be of value as we work to live more lightly and sustainably on the planet.  This means you!

So, we’ve listed here, by category, a whole slate of organizations that either need volunteers or offer great educational opportunities.

The Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network has helped 80 communities form local energy and climate action committees.

These primarily-volunteer groups are achieving impressive results: saving energy, working for local renewable energy generation, meeting with the legislature, and raising awareness about global warming.

Contribute to this powerful network by joining or starting an energy committee in your town. Find out more by visiting the VECAN website or contacting Johanna Miller at 802-223-2328 or jmiller [at] vnrc.org.
